As an Olympics and world championship peak performance coach, he has successfully trained mentally our national badminton players of project 1988/90 that contributed to the success of the historic Thomas Cup victory in 1992. Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock went on to clinch the silver medals at the Atlanta Olympics badminton doubles event in 1996 (the nation’s highest sports achievement so far) and achieved the world’s number one position in badminton for many months. He also mentally coached Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui – badminton women’s doubles pair to win many championship titles and to become the world’s number one. Malaysian Hockey Team In hockey, he was responsible for mentally motivating the Malaysian men’s hockey team to beat the world champions, Holland and achieved a creditable 4th position in the 1975 3rd World Cup Hockey Tournament (the highest achievement ever achieved by Malaysian hockey in a world competition). In 1976 he trained a team of chief coaches, managers and officials of the SEAP Games. In 1979, he helped to tune-up the mental strength of the junior hockey team to achieve the 4th position in the 1st Junior World Cup Tournament held in Paris. In 1993, he helped to prepare and mould the new national men’s hockey team in the Asian Cup Tournament held in Hiroshima, Japan. In 1984, he trained and motivated the Malaysian netball team to become Asian netball team champions in 1985. In 1995, he was recalled to prepare mentally the national men’s hockey team to qualify successfully for the Atlanta Olympics.
